In September of 1991, Kalāheo won the U.S. Department of Education's Blue Ribbon Schools Award for academic excellence, outstanding extracurricular activities and school pride - all achieved under adverse financial conditions. along with this national recognition came a cash award of $4000 with the faculty and staff chose to use as "seed" money to create a non-profit foundation.

Together we will make a difference
The Foundation is a group of people - alumni, teachers, administrators and friends - who care about the future of Kalāheo and its students. Our purpose is to provide financial support to the school.
